Our clients wanted to redesign the downstairs floorplate to support a complete open plan scheme. They also required the house to be redecorated and refunished from top to bottom. The living room, dining room and kitchen were opened up into one sizeable area. For practical reasons, the utility room was retained and the complete downstairs footprint was extended out into the garden to cater for this. A glass wall of sliding doors coupled with velux roof windows ensures the whole space is flooded with light. Clever additional trench heating ensures the room is adequately heated without compromising the minimal clean line aesthetic. The extension complies to the latest building regulations and energy effeciency stanards.
